Virtual Pump System
Note on using this simulator! The Virtual Pump System is provided as a reference tool and to help demonstrate how a typical domestic water well system works. The figures provided by it are approximate. Help: System Type
The current water pressure of your system. Determined mostly by the amount of water in your pressure tank. This number will fluctuate between 30 and 50 or 40 and 60 PSI depending on your pressure setting. If your water usage is higher then your pump's capacity then your pressure can go below 30 or 40. At this point your pressure will continue to decline at a steady pace until your pressure tank is empty. When your pressure tank is empty your water pressure will vary a great deal depending on several factors, including usage, pump capacity, size of your water lines, etc. System Type:

PSI Help: Gallons in Pressure Tank
The current amount of water in your pressure tank. Your pressure tank should never reach zero gallons, provided that you do not use more water then your pump can produce. Gallons in Pressure Tank:
Gallons Help: Pump Status
Shows if your pump is turned on or off. In a conventional system your pump should turn on at your low pressure setting (30 or 40 PSI) and turn off at your high pressure setting (50 or 60 PSI). In a Constant Pressure System you pump will turn on when water is in use and turn off when water is not in use and the pressure is at the cut off (50 or 60psi). Pump Status:
OFF Help: Water From Pump
The amount of water entering your system from the pump, given in GPM's Water from Pump:
00.0 GPM'sHelp: Total Gallons being used
The current amount of water being used by your house, given in GPM's. (Note: if your pressure tank is empty and your usage is higher then your pump's capacity then usage will drop to match your pump's capacity. Total Gallons being used:
