To be known and respected by all as the fairest, most honest and most professional provider of water systems ever.  Our Goal Since the beginning, Barnhart Pump Company has had one goal in mind. That goal is clearly stated in our mission statement. You, our customer, are the most important person in the world. Our leaders, Steve and Melinda Barnhart have instilled their core values into the company. Always being completely fair and honest as possible is just the way we do business. We truly want every customer to become a customer for life. From those lifelong customers came our company slogan: "Ask your neighbors about us." Our History Barnhart Pump Company began as a family operation during the summer of 1983. Herma, Steve and Marty Barnhart founded the company in Black Forest, an area just outside of Colorado Springs. At that time the company was based from their home on Roller Coaster Road. Herma Barnhart, Steve and Marty's mother, was in charge of the office duties while Steve and Marty were the company's first service technicians, though Marty left the company after a few years to start his own business in a related field. Steve, however, stayed on board; he already had more than ten years of experience in the water well business from working for several contractors in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. Over the next few years the company's business began to grow, despite a struggling local economy, by building a strong base of referrals and repeat customers. This was possible due to the company's founding philosophy, to do quality work utilizing the best equipment and materials available. For that reason Barnhart Pump Company became a dealer for Goulds Pumps, one of the nation's oldest and most reliable pump manufacturers. The company remained a small family operation with a growing reputation until 1992. At that time Steve, along with his wife Melinda, took over operations of the business. Steve and Melinda moved the company to the Falcon area and began running the business from their home. The company started growing during this time, adding new equipment and employees. In 1999 Steve and Melinda purchased property in the rural Falcon area to be the new home of Barnhart Pump. Since that time Barnhart Pump has continued to be the cutting edge supplier of water well systems for the Pikes Peak Region. 
The CrewOne of the core beliefs for Barnhart Pump during its growing process has been to find and cultivate the very best employees available. Crew Chief Mark Birkelo, a Colorado Springs native, came to us in the summer of 2000. Mark started working with pumps and wells over 30 years ago at the young age of seven. He has been a full time professional since 1989 and licensed by the state since 1994. Mark owned and operated Birkelo Water Systems from 1996 to 2000. Service Technicians Brad Costain has presently been with the company longer then any other employee. Brad started as a technician's assistant in 1999 and has worked his way up to journeyman status. Brad is currently studying to be a state certified pump installer. Brad Sallee is a native of Limon, Colorado. Brad got his start in the water well and pump business with Hamacher Well Works of Simla. Brad came to Barnhart Pump in early 2002 as an assistant technician. Brad also worked his way up to journeyman status with the company. Kevin Shumway recently joined Barnhart pump as a technician. He hails from Arizona and has 17 years of experience in the water well industry. Shop Manager Norm Leckenby has been with the company since 2006 as an assistant pump technician and has recently taken over as shop manager. Norm is a colorado native with a large ranching operation in Eastern El Paso County. He has years of experience in maintenance, repair, and truck driving. Office Gary Grant started with Barnhart in 1996 and worked a year as an assistant technician, he then came back in 2000 to manage the office. With a background in sales and management Gary has filled a niche with the company. |
